For a master bedroom, this space was really not very large, considering today's standards. Additionally, the wall space was limited by the two walls of large windows. The flooring, walls, and heating vents were all design challenges.

What happens next seems hard to fathom. The paint choice seemed overwhelming next to the white window frames. But I knew Mr. Dixon would prevail.

That terra cotta-hued paint is striking and relaxing - it really works. As the sun hits the walls, the color intensifies and cools at different times of the day. The use of translucent, shimmering, stiff sheer drapes in different textures and colors - suspended wall to wall on a small metal rod - is ethereal. The showstopper is a settee designed by Mr. Dixon that is both serious and whimsical. The headboard is two framed antique glass mirrors with a diamond design. The circular items, such as the beautiful grommet-studded rug and nightstands supporting original artlike lights, are well balanced. Intricate overlapping textures are sumptuously visible in the metals, silks, velvets, chenilles, damasks, woods and mirrors. Bravo Mr. Dixon, you did it again!
