Location: 4845 Colorado Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC
This two-story, 10,500 square-foot mansion sits on one and one-half acres overlooking Rock Creek Park. The house was built in 1923 in what was then suburban Washington, and is attributed to the famous Washington, DC builder Harry Wardman, who built one of the city's long-standing landmarks - the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. The property is currently on the market and is listed with Long & Foster Realty for $1,925,000.

Admission: Tickets for the twenty-ninth annual NSO Decorators' Show House are $15 in advance, $15 each for groups of 15 or more and $20 at the door. Tickets may be purchased from the Kennedy Center box office (202-467-4600 or 800-444-1324). Tickets are also available at other selected sales locations. A full list of sales locations can be accessed via the Kennedy Center Website at www.kennedy-center.org/nso after August 1. No children under 8 years of age are permitted, including infants.

Details: The NSO Decorators' Show House 2001 (October 1-31) allows guests to tour and view the work of top interior and landscape designers. Each guest will receive a copy of the Show House program book, a major source for home design in the Washington, DC area.

Boutique shops featuring unusual gift items, designer sales, and a café offering light refreshments, catered by Bread & Chocolate, Inc. of Washington, DC, will be open during the NSO Decorators' Show House 2001. Special raffles will also be held throughout the month.

Directions & Parking: White Oaks is located on Colorado Avenue, N.W., one-half block west of 16th Street across from Carter Barron Amphitheater. Public parking is available. Special parking accommodations are in place for tour buses. For more information on group tours, please call 202-416-8151.

Accessibility: Due to the nature of this house, we are unable to make it fully accessible for persons with disabilities. However, the Women's Committee for the National Symphony Orchestra will make every effort to accommodate special needs.

Sponsor & Proceeds: The Women's Committee for the National Symphony Orchestra, a volunteer organization consisting of approximately 1,000 members, was founded in 1941. The Women's Committee has provided financial and service support to the Orchestra through fundraising and education programs for 60 years. The NSO Decorators' Show House is the principal fundraiser of the Women's Committee and has raised approximately $6.3 million for the NSO since its inception in 1973.
