Join us as we go behind the scenes of the prestigious National Symphony Orchestra's Decorators' Show House in Washington, D.C.!

Meet the designers, and observe from start to finish the magical transformation of one of the oldest Decorators' Show Houses.

On October 1, 2001, the doors of "White Oaks" opened to the public for the National Symphony Orchestra Decorators' Show House. hosted annually by the Women's Committee for the NSO, this fund-raising event offers the public a rare look at the work of famed interior designers. We have been invited to cover this event from beginning to end. The actual transformations you will see are astounding. Follow along as we meet the designers, watch their visions come to life, and are awed by the final results. Also, visit the Show House, in Washington, D.C., to experience extraordinary interior creations.

This Show House will represent what is really possible in interior design. Like reading a compelling novel, we are introduced to some very interesting characters, follow along with their visions, learn how they prevail in challenging situations, and are amazed by the conclusion. What skill this group of designers embodies! This is the finest Show House I have seen in years - possibly ever. Given the adverse conditions that resulted from the September 11, 2001 disaster, it was a real triumph that the deadline was met and the Show House opened to the press on time! We thank all those involved in this project and are so pleased to share the event with all DesignIntuit readers!
